Blessed Unrest heats up Shakespeare’s magical tale of people desperately trying to love each other in spite of volatile weather, identity confusion and meddling sprites. This physically dynamic production ignites Shakespeare’s language and tears open the heart of the play.
What they said
Thank god for Blessed Unrest’s production of "A Midsummer Night’s Dream". This diamond in the rough restored my faith in off-off Broadway….
This company’s energetic and crystal-clear presentation of a play packed with fairies, amazon queens, magic elixirs, and shape-changing donkeys made Shakespeare’s magical forest thoroughly relevant and captivating from start to finish.

This production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream definitely has passion. In fact, it is all heart, soul and fluid movement.
I suggest an evening frolicking in Shakespeare’s magical woods with this innovative company. I found it to be a dream that is hard to forget.

The production, expertly directed by Jessica Burr, really showcased the actors and all their strengths. Everyone plays a part in all three storylines, which adds precisely the kind of confusion the play necessitates: a sensation of being lost in a dreamscape, unable to distinguish identities and reality.
